1988. Gymnogaster buphthalma Blanchard, Espèce énigmatique de l’île de la Réunion.

Gymnogaster buphthalma was described in 1850 by Blanchard on one female. None another example has been caught until 1983. This species is rehabilitated. The author give the description of the unknown male and the diagnosis of the genus. Distribution, dates of collecting and biology are reviewed. Many of the morphological characters are illustrated by line drawings. The lectotype female is designated and an historical résumé of the genus complete this presentation.


1989a. Contribution à la connaissance des Melolonthidae malgaches I. Terebrogaster squalida n. gen., n. sp.

Terebrogaster squalida, gen. n. and sp. n., from Madagascar, is described and illustrated. It is compared to the most relative species : T. pygidialis (Waterhouse), the male of which is also described and illustrated : a lectotype is designated. A key is provided for identification of these two species.

1991. Contribution à la connaissance des Melolonthinae malgaches II.

Pseudencya cinnabarina and Ravautiana jucunda gen. n., sp. n., from Madagascar are described and illustrated.

1994a. Les Sericinae de l’archipel des Comores (Coleoptera, Scarabaeoidea).

In this faunal study two new genera and seven new species of Sericinae from the Comoros Islands are described. The new generic names proposed are : Blebea, Ercomoana. The new specific names proposed are : Balbera anjouanae, B. matilei ; Hyposerica porphyrea, H. fuliginosa, H. orbiculata ; Blebea elongata ; Ercomoana longiclava. The synonymy between Ablabera gracilis and Ablabera laevigata, n. syn., two species described by Fairmaire in the same work (1868), is etablished. A new characterisation of A. gracilis is given and this species is transferred in the genus Balbera Fairmaire.The genus Hyposerica is redefined and the type-species is designated. Keys to tribe, genera and species are provided. All taxa are described and illustrated by habitus figures and drawings of the male genitalia and external characters used in keys. The affinities between the comorian and malagasy sericine faunas are discussed. Observations are presented on biogeographical distribution and faunal relationships.


1994b. Pachydeminae des regions limitrophes du golfe d’Aden et description de Canudema socotrae n. gen., n. sp.

A faunal study of the Pachydeminae from the Gulf of Aden subregion is presented. In this study seven species are recorded from this area. Canudema socotrae gen. n., sp. n., is described from Socotra and compared to Tanyproctus puncticeps (Waterhouse) and Elaphocerella variabilis Moser. Lectotypes are designated. A new combination is established : Tanyproctoides arabicus (Arrow nec Petrovitz, 1932). All taxa are described or redescribed and four are illustrated by habitus figures and drawings of the male genitalia and external characters used in keys. A key of all the species is provided. Locality record dot map is presented and the affinities between the different genera are discussed.

  

1995a. Un nouveau genre de Pachydeminae malgache.

Anamatochoranus decaryi gen. n., sp. n., is described on a single male specimen from Madagascar and compared to the nearest other taxa. This taxon is illustrated by habitus figure and drawings of the male genitalia and external characters used in keys. A complementary key is given.


1996a. Contribution à la connaissance des Pachydeminae asiatiques.

Cochinchidema n. gen. with two new species : harmandi and pilosa from Vietnam and Tanyproctus dechambrei n. sp. from China are described and illustrated. T. dechambrei is compared to T. davidis Fairmaire. All taxa are illustrated by drawings of the male genitalia and external characters used in keys and two by habitus figures. Locality record dot map is presented and the affinities between the two genera are discussed. A biogeographical study of the Pachydeminae from the oriental region is presented.


1997a. Contribution à la connaissance des Pachydeminae asiatiques. II. une nouvelle espèce du genre Tanyproctus Faldermann.

Contribution to the knowledge in asian Pachydeminae, II. a new Tanyproctus species (Coleoptera, Scarabaeoidea, Melolonthidae). Tanyproctus feai sp. n. is described from Myanmar (Burma). This taxon is illustrated by habitus figure and drawings of the male genitalia and external characters used for comparative table. The affinities between the three species located in Oriental region are discussed.

 

1997b. Contribution à la connaissance des Pachydeminae africains, I.

Perrindema gen. n. with ibiense sp. n. and Zimbabuephylla gen. n. with salernei. sp. n. are described from Mozambique and Zimbabwe. A new species Achloa payoni is also described from Zimbabwe. Neoclitopa gen. n. is created for Clitopa nitidipennis Arrow. All taxa are illustrated by habitus figures and drawings of the male genitalia and external characters used in keys.

In this faunal study five new genera and two new species of Pachydeminae from the afrotropical area are described. The new generic names proposed are : Dechambrophylla, Clomecyra, Castelnauphylla, Limepomera, Palacephala. The new specific names proposed are : Dechambrophylla longiclava, Castelnauphylla ovata. The synonymies of Damara Péringuey and Deuterohapalopus Dalla Torre with Trichinopus Waterhouse, Ramoutsa Péringuey with Pseustophylla Péringuey are etablished. All taxa are illustrated by habitus figures and drawings of the male genitalia and external characters used in keys. Keys to tribe and genera are provided. The affinities between the new genera and others afrotropical genera are discussed. Observations are presented on biogeographical distribution and faunal relationships. A list of genera is provided with type-species and number of species for each genus.

A new Pachydema species, Pachydema monodi sp. n., is described from Mauritania. This taxon is illustrated by drawings of the male genitalia and external characters used for discussion. Male and also female specimens are described. The affinities between the closely related species located in the region are discussed.


1999c. Melolonthidae de Socotra.

A faunal study of the Melolonthidae from Socotra is presented. 1999d. Revision of the genus Europtron with description of Europtron atlanticum sp. n. from Morocco.

The pachydemine genus Europtron Marseul, 1867 is revised. Currently, three species are recognized : E. gracile Marseul, 1867, E. confusum Marseul, 1878 (both from Algeria) and E. atlanticum sp. n. from the Atlantic coast of Morocco. The new species differs from both of the previously known North African species mainly by remakably densely punctate and setaceous clypeus, by all around setaceous pronotum, and by shape of metatibia and parameres. The female of E. gracilis is described for the first time, females of E. confusum and E. atlanticum sp. n. are still unknown. Europtron ibericum Balthasar, 1929 is considered a junior objective synonym of E. confusum. Known distribution of all three species is mapped and their bionomy is discussed.


1999e. Deux nouveaux Tanyproctus Faldermann de Chine.

Description of two new species of Tanyproctus from Yunnan (China) : T. francottei sp. n. and T. mourzinei sp. n. from Mts Haba, N.W. Yunnan. The two new taxa are illustrated by 24 genitalia and external characters drawings. The affinities between the closely related species located in China are discussed. A bracketed and illustrated key use the best diagnostic characters to a correct identification of the known taxa. A catalogue of Pachydeminae from China and adjacent countries is given.


2000a. Les Pachydema des Îles Canaries :  Histoire, biogéographie historique et biologie larvaire d’une espèce inédite.

Contribution to the knowledge of the paleartic Pachydeminae, II. A new Pachydema species from Canary Islands. Pachydema keithi sp. n. is described from Gran Canaria. Male, female and larval specimens are described and illustraded by drawings of the male genitalia and external characters used for discussion. The affinities between the nearest species located in the region are discussed. Information is given on the life history of the larva. Observations are presented on biogeographical distribution and faunal relationships. A synonymic species catalogue and a historic overview of the canarian taxa are provided.


2000b. Le genre Geniatosoma Costa Lima : Mises au point et description d’une nouvelle espèce Geniatosoma matilei n. sp.

The South American Rutelid genus Geniatosoma Costa Lima is reviewed. Geniatosoma is one of 12 genera placed in the tribe Geniatini (317 species). Geniates niger was described by Ohaus (1917) in the genus Geniates and placed in Geniatosoma n. gen. by Costa Lima (1940). A new species from Brasil is described. The genus Geniatosoma includes 3 species : G. nigrum (Ohaus) from French Guiana, G. matilei n. sp. and G. fernandezi Martinez both from Brasil. Recent collecting trips in French Guiana have helped to elucidate confusions and errors in the taxonomy of this genus. A neotype for G. nigrum (Ohaus) is designated and deposited at MNHU, Berlin. A key to the species is given. The taxa are illustrated by habitus figures and drawings of the male genitalia and external characters used for comparative table. The affinities between the three species located in the region are discussed.

 

2001. Pachydeminae de l'Est africain (Kenya et Tanzanie).

A faunal study of the Pachydeminae from East Africa is presented. In this study fifteen genera are recorded from this area : Triodontonyx Moser, Wernerophylla n. gen. with nigra n. sp., Periproctus Kolbe, Aglaphyra Brenske, Cephaloncheres Brenske with werneri n. sp. and lizleri n. sp., Clitopa Erichson, Empycastes Gerstaecker, Synclitopa Kolbe, Diaclaspus Brenske, Scaphorhina Quedenfeldt, Protoclitopa Decelle, Dechambrophylla Lacroix with werneri n. sp., Zanitanus n. gen., Perrindema Lacroix, Oncochirus Kolbe. Keys of genera are provided. Twenty species belonging to these genera are described and illustrated by habitus figures and drawings of male genitalia and external characters used for comparative tables. The affinities between the species located in the region are discussed. A historical study of the Pachydeminae from East Africa is presented. Comments are given on biogeographical distribution and faunal relationships. Locality record dot maps are presented.  


2002a. Melolonthidae of Socotra Island, Yemen.

A faunal study of the Melolonthidae from Socotra Island is presented. In this study five species from three genera are recorded from this area: Canuschiza minuta Lacroix, C. insularis Lacroix, Tanyproctus puncticeps (Waterhouse), T. canui Lacroix and Canudema socotrae Lacroix. All species and 2/3 of the genera are endemic to the Socotra Archipelago. The following information is provided for each species: bibliographical references, diagnosis, data for the studies material, illustration of male genitalia  and important external characters used for comparative tables, taxonomic remarks. Keys to Melolonthidae subfamilies, Melolonthinae tribes, Melolonthinae and Pachydeminae genera and species are provided.

Until my previous two studies of the Melolonthidae, Pachydema puncticeps Waterhouse, 1881, had been the only one species of this family that was known from Socotra Island. Recent collections made in 1993 by Dr J.-G. Canu led to the description of a new taxon belonging to a new genus : Canudema socotrae Lacroix, 1994.

Recently, new collections made during the year 1997 by Dr J.-G. Canu, proved that the faunal inventory is not yet complete (Cambefort, 1998).

From these recent collections, three new Melolonthidae were described in 1999 by M. Lacroix : Tanyproctus canui belonging to Pachydeminae and very different from T. puncticeps (Waterhouse); Canuschiza minuta and C. insularis, two new species belonging to Schizonychini and put in a new genus.

 

2002b. Nouveaux Melolonthidae afrotropicaux.

In this faunal study three new genera and four new species of Melolonthidae from the afrotropical area are described. The new genera and species proposed are : Clomecyra ballerioi n. sp., Tanzanipholis n. gen. werneri n. sp., Engistanoxia n. gen. dessertineae n. sp., Camerunopholis n. gen. mirifica n. sp. All taxa are illustrated by habitus figures and drawings of the male genitalia and external characters used in keys. The affinities between the new genera and other afrotropical genera are discussed.

  

2003a. Pachydeminae africains, III. Nouveau genre et nouvelles espèces.

In this faunal study one new genus and four new species of Pachydeminae from the afrotropical area are described. The new genus and species are : Pseudachloa werneri n. sp. from South Africa, Goniorrhina angolensis n. sp. from Angola, Aliaclitopa n. gen. with snizeki n. sp. from Zimbabwe, Phalangosoma werneri n. sp. from Zambia. New locality records are given for Aliaclitopa praecalva (Péringuey) from Zimbabwe. All taxa are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys. The affinities between the new genus Aliaclitopa and other afrotropical genera are discussed.


2003b. Un nouveau Tanyproctus Ménétriés, 1832, de Chine et remarques sur les genres Pachnessa Brenske, 1894, et Peritryssus Reitter, 1918.

 Description of Tanyproctus yunnanus n. sp. from China. The affinities between the species located in the region are discussed. New data on Pachnessa nicobarica (Redtenbacher, 1868). New synonymy with Peritryssus Reitter, 1918, and Liogenys Guérin, 1838, is established. All taxa are illustrated by drawings of the male genitalia and main external characters.


2004. Pachydeminae africains, IV. Nouvelles espèces.

In this faunal study two new species of Pachydeminae from the afrotropical area are described. The new species are : Phalangosoma minutum n. sp. and Sparrmannia werneri n. sp. from Zambia. All taxa are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys.


2005a. Pachydeminae africains, V. Nouvelles espèces de Oedanomerus Waterhouse.

 In this faunal study three new species of Pachydeminae from the afrotropical area are described. The new species are : Oedanomerus snizeki n. sp. from Zimbabwe, O. squamosus n. sp. from Botswana et O. uhligi n. sp. from Namibia. All taxa are illustrated by habitus figure (O. snizeki), drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys.


2005b. Pachydeminae africains, VI. Nouveaux genres et nouvelles espèces.

 In this faunal study three new genera and seven new species of Pachydeminae from the afrotropical area are described. The new genera and species are : Decellophylla n. gen. with mourgliai n. sp. from Somalia ; Camerounophylla n. gen. with bargai n. sp. from Cameroon ; Kabindeknomiosoma n. gen. with hautmanni n. sp. from Democratic Republic of Congo.  Eucyclophylla leggi n. sp. and E. flavida n. sp. from Cape Province ; Pimelomera goossensi n. sp. and P. onorei n. sp. from Congo. New synonym is proposed : Pimelomera nitida Burgeon, 1946, with Taphrocephala polita Quedenfeldt, 1888. All taxa are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys.


2006a. Pachydeminae africains, VII. Le genre Goniorrhina Quedenfeldt, 1888.

 In this faunal study four new species of Pachydeminae from the afrotropical area and belonging to the genus Goniorrhina Quedenfeldt, 1888, are described. The new species are : excavata n. sp., mertensi n. sp., nasuta n. sp. and pilosa n. sp. All taxa are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys.


2006b. Pachydeminae africains, VIII. Nouveaux genres et nouvelles espèces.

 In this faunal study three new genera and three new species of Pachydeminae from the afrotropical area are described. The new genera and species are : Periproctoides n. gen. with lukeniensis n. sp. from Kenya ; Erigavo n. gen. with somalicus n. sp. from Somalia ; Eurypeza n. gen. with evansi n. sp. from Somalia. All taxa are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys.


2006c. Pachydeminae africains, IX. Nouveaux genres et nouvelles espèces.

 In this faunal study one new genus and two new species of Pachydeminae from the afrotropical area are described. The new genus and species are : Zomba n. gen. with nyassiensis n. sp. and foai n. sp. from Malawi. These taxa are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys.


2006d. Pachydeminae africains, X. Nouveau genres, mise au point et désignation de lectotypes.

 In this faunal study one new genus is described from Southern Africa : Plesiopalacephala n. gen. for Cyclomera castanea Klug from Mozambique. The following names are new combinations resulting from a change in genus :  Cyclomera opaca (Schaufuss),  Cyclomera natalensis (Boheman), Periclitopa sambesiana (Nonfried), Plesiopalacephala castanea (Klug). Lectotypes designations are made for the syntypes of Cyclomera dispar (Klug), Cyclomera opaca (Schaufuss), Palacephala erichsoni (Klug), Paraclitopa fuscipennis (Moser), Periclitopa sambesiana (Nonfried), Plesiopalacephala castanea (Klug), Aegostheta sjoestedti Moser. The following new synonymy is recognized : Cyclomera opaca (Schaufuss, 1879) with Cyclomera natalensis (Boheman, 1857). The following genera are recharacterized : Cyclomera Klug, Palacephala Lacroix, Paraclitopa Waterhouse and Periclitopa Brenske. These taxa are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys.

2008a. Melolonthidae africains, I. Nouveaux genres et nouvelles espèces du complexe Apogonia.

 In this faunal study new substitute names are proposed : Metapogonia nom. nov. pro Metagonia Kolbe, 1899 ; Rhynchapogonia nom. nov. pro Rhynchogonia Arrow, 1902. Comatapogonia n. gen. is described with Apogonia conradti Fairmaire, 1898. Lectotype designation is made for the syntype of Apogonia conradtii Fairmaire. The "Apogonia" complex, which include six genera, is revised. Five new species are described : Apogonia kunenensis n. sp. from Namibia ; A. werneri n. sp. from Zambia ; A. uhligi n. sp. from Zimbabwe ; A. tomeensis n. sp. from Sao Tome ; A. decellei n. sp. from Sao Tome. These taxa are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys.


2008b. Melolonthida africains, II. Nouvelles espèces d’Apogonia Kirby.

 Five new species belonging to the genus Apogonia Kirby, 1819, are described : Apogonia coiffaiti n. sp. from Gabon ; A. nimbaensis n. sp. from Guinea ; A. lamottei n. sp. from Guinea ; A. australensis n. sp. from Zimbabwe et South Africa ; A. transvaalensis n. sp. from South Africa. These taxa are illustrated by drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys.


2008c. Melolonthidae africains, III. Nouvelles espèces de Pegylis Erichson, 1848.

 Three new species belonging to the genus Pegylis Erichson, 1848, are described : Pegylis tchadensis n. sp. from Tchad ; P. salernei n. sp. from Zimbabwe et P. werneri from Mozambique. These taxa are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys.


2008d. Nouvelles espèces de Pegylis Erichson, 1848, d’Afrique orientale.

 Three new species belonging to the genus Pegylis Erichson, 1848, are described : Pegylis lineata n. sp. from Kenya ; P. pilosa n. sp. from Somalia and Ethiopia and P. ugandensis  n. sp. from Uganda. These taxa are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys.


2008e. Révision du genre Aglaphyra Brenske, 1896, d’Afrique orientale.

 A new species belonging to the genus Aglaphyra Brenske, 1896, is described : A. keithi n. sp. from Tanzania. The affinities between the four species are discussed. The genus Aglaphyra is recharacterized and the affinities between this genus and others afrotropical genera are discussed. These taxa are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in keys.


2008f. Tanzanilepis badia, nouveau genre et nouvelle espèce de Leucopholini d’Afrique orientale.

 Description, discussion and illustration of Tanzanilepis badia, new genus and new species from Tanzania. The affinities between the new genus Tanzanilepis and other afrotropical genera are discussed. 2009a. Révision du genre Cochliotis Kolbe.

 In this faunal study the genus Cochliotis Kolbe, 1894, is revised. The affinities between this genus and others afrotropical genera are discussed. A new species is described : Cochliotis somaliensis n. sp. from Somalia. The three taxa belonging to this genus are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in key.


2009b. Révision du genre Lepidomela Kolbe.

 In this faunal study the genus Lepidomela Kolbe, 1894, is revised. The affinities between this genus and others afrotropical genera are discussed. Lectotype designation is made for L. cervina Kolbe. The synonymy between africana Brenske and cervina Kolbe is confirmed. The two good taxa africana Brenske and borana Gridelli are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in key.


2009c. Révision des genres Spaniolepis Kolbe et Camerunopholis Lacroix.

 In this faunal study the genera Spaniolepis Kolbe, 1894, and Camerunopholis Lacroix, 2002, are revised. The affinities between these genera and others afrotropical genera are discussed. New synonymy is proposed : Spaniolepis kameruna Moser with Camerunopholis mirifica Lacroix. A new combination is proposed : Camerunopholis kameruna (Moser) for Spaniolepis kameruna Moser. All taxa are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in key.


2009d. Révision du genre Debutina Lacroix.

 In this faunal study the genus Debutina Lacroix, 1993, is revised. The affinities between this genus and other malagasyan genera are discussed. A new combination is proposed : Debutina taediosa (Fairmaire) for Anomolyna taediosa Fairmaire. The three taxa belonging to this genus are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in key.


2009e. Révision du genre Brachylepis Kolbe.

 In this faunal study the genus Brachylepis Kolbe, 1894, is revised. The affinities between this genus and other afrotropical genera are discussed. A new species is described : Brachylepis werneri n. sp. from Ethiopia. New synonymy is proposed : Brachylepis elephas (Gerstaecker, 1867) with B. bennigseni Brenske, 1898. The two taxa belonging to this genus are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in key.


2009f. Révision du genre Pholidochris Kolbe.

 In this faunal study the genus Pholidochris Kolbe, 1894, is revised. The affinities between this genus and other afrotropical genera are discussed. Ancylonycha dohrni Quedenfeldt is subsequently designated here as the type species of the genus Pholidochris Kolbe. Lectotype and paralectotype designations are made for the syntypes of Pholidochris brenskei Kolbe, P. dohrni (Quedenfeldt), P. helleri Brenske and P. quedenfeldti (Brenske). The eight taxa belonging to this genus are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in key.


2009g. Un nouveau genre avec deux nouvelles espèces de Pachydeminae.

 In this faunal study one new genus and two new species of Pachydeminae from East Africa are described. The new genus and species are : Kenyatopadema n. gen. with reyi n. sp. and werneri n. sp. The affinities between this genus and other afrotropical genera are discussed. The two taxa belonging to this genus are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in key.


2010. Melolonthinae afrotropicaux, Genera et Catalogue.

 A commented Genera and catalogue of the afrotropical Melolonthinae are presented. As of 30 june 2010, the melolonthine fauna consists of 5 tribes, 33 genera and 200 valid species (except Schizonychini). Three new species, five new combinations, a new statut and five new synonyms are recognized. Types species are designated. Lectotypes are designated.

 The new species are : Eulepida kenyensis n. sp., Eulepida werneri n. sp. and Eulepida zambiensis n. sp.

 Five new combinations are proposed : Hecistopsilus setosoquamea (Fairmaire) for Hypopholis setososquamea Fairmaire, 1887 ; Pegylis tenuitarsis (Fairmaire) for Adoretopsis tenuitarsis Fairmaire, 1887 ; Spaniolepis leonina (Arrow) for Lepidiota leonina Arrow, 1943 ; Eulepida kameruna (Frey) for Lepidiota kameruna Frey, 1972 ; Holotrichia intersa (Quedenfeldt) for Ancylonicha intersa Quedenfeldt, 1884.

 A new statut is etablished : Afrolepis kivuensis Decelle for Afrolepis congoensis ssp. kivuensis Decelle, 1968.

 A new subspecies is described from Ivory Coast : Pholidochris quedenfeldti ivorensis  n. ssp.

 A new synonym is proposed for genus : Adoretopsis Fairmaire, 1887 with Pegylis Erichson, 1848. Four new synonyms for species : Eulepida sororia Moser, 1913, with Eulepida mamboiae Brenske, 1896 ; Eulepida kolbei Moser, 1913, with Eulepida nitidicollis Kolbe, 2894 ; Eulepida pagana Kolbe, 1894 and Eulepida sansibarica Kolbe, 1894, with Eulepida sinuatifrons (Fairmaire, 1887).

 Byrsalepis mikindana Brenske, 1898, is designated as type species for the genus Byrsalepis Brenske, 1898 (not designated by Brenske and two species in the same original description).

 Leucopholis lepidota Klug, 1855, is designated as type species for the genus Eulepida Kolbe, 1894 (not designated by Kolbe in the original publication).

 Lectotypes are designated for : Pegylis hauseri Brenske, 1898, Pegylis neumanni Kolbe, 1894, Spaniolepis leonina (Arrow, 1943). In the genus Eulepida Kolbe, lectotypes are designated for : Eulepida anatina Brenske, 1896 ; Eulepida manowensis Moser, 1913 ; Eulepida minor Moser, 1913 ; Eulepida montana Kolbe, 1894 ; Eulepida kolbei Moser, 1913 ; Eulepida nyassica Kolbe, 1894 ; Eulepida sansibarica Kolbe, 1894.


2011a. Scaphorhina schoolmeestersi, nouvelle espèce de Pachydeminae afrotropicaux.

Description of Scaphorhina schoolmeestersi n. sp. from Namibia. The affinities between the species located in the region are discussed. The four taxa located in Namibia and belonging to the genus Scaphorhina Quedenfeldt, 1884, are illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters used in key.


2011b. Kenyalepis montana, nouveau genre et nouvelle espèce de Leucopholini d’Afrique orientale.

 Description, discussion and illustration of Kenyalepis montana, new genus and new species from Kenya. The affinities between the genus Kenyalepis and other afrotropical genera are discussed. This taxon is illustrated by habitus figures, drawings of male genitalia and external characters.


2012. Révision du genre Entyposis Kolbe, 1894 (Insecta, Coleoptera, Scarabaeoidea, Melolonthidae).

 Le genre Entyposis Kolbe, 1894, est révisé. La position de ce genre au sein des Schizonychini est discutée. Le taxon cavicollis Fairmaire, 1887, est désigné comme espèce type du genre. Une nouvelle combinaison est proposée : Entyposis nyukana (Kolbe, 1910) pour Schizonycha nyukana Kolbe, 1910. Les synonymies entre mendax, Péringuey, 1904, nyukana Kolbe, 1910, et montana Moser, 1913, sont confirmées. Des lectotypes sont désignés pour les taxons cavicollis, nyukana et montana. Six nouvelles espèces sont décrites : bidentata, martinezi, rasplusi, recava du Mozambique, excavata de Tanzanie et squamulata du Kenya et Tanzanie. Un historique du genre et de ses espèces est établi.


2013. Contribution à la connaissance des Melolonthidae afrotropicaux.

The examination of an important lot of recently collected afrotropical Melolonthidae and belonging to the I.R.Sc.N.B. Bruxelles allowed the description of new species, the redescription of species on unique, old events, in poor condition or of which one of the sexes was not known, as well as to widen the distribution of a number of species. The new species are : Malawinophylla murphyi n. gen. n. sp. from Malawi and Zambia, Pegylis murphyi n. sp. from Malawi, Pegylis salernei malawinensis n. ssp. from Malawi.


2013. Révision du genre Perrindema Lacroix 1997 (Coleoptera : Scarabaeoidea : Melolonthidae : Pachydeminae).

Le genre Perrindema Lacroix, 1997, est révisé. La position systématique de ce genre au sein des Pachydemini Burmeister, 1855, est discutée. La synonymie entre Perrindema Lacroix, 1997, et Zanitanus Lacroix, 2001, est proposée. Une nouvelle combinaison est établie pour Cephaloncheres lindiensis Moser, 1919. Deux nouvelles espèces sont décrites : Perrindema quiterajoensis n. sp. et P. pembaensis n. sp., du Mozambique. Un historique du genre est donné ainsi qu’une clé de détermination. La conservation de l’utilisation du nom Pachydeminae au détriment de Tanyproctinae Erichson, 1847, est argumentée.
